Privacy Policy

Last updated: September 21, 2026 · Effective: September 21, 2026

At Home Hypnosis ("we," "us," or "our") is operated by Alexandra Janelli. This privacy policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and your rights regarding your data.

It covers both the website (athomehypnosis.com) and the At Home Hypnosis mobile app. The website comes first. The part headed The At Home Hypnosis App explains what the app keeps, where, and why.

Information We Collect

We collect information you provide directly to us, including:

We do not collect payment information directly. Any purchases are handled by third-party platforms (such as Amazon or Kindle).

How We Use Your Information

We do not sell, rent, or share your personal information with third parties for marketing purposes.

Third-Party Services

We use the following third-party services that may process your data:

Cookies

Our site uses minimal cookies necessary for functionality (such as remembering your newsletter popup preference). Embedded YouTube videos may set additional cookies from Google. You can control cookie settings in your browser.

Data Retention

We retain your information for as long as necessary to fulfill the purposes outlined in this policy. You may request deletion of your data at any time by contacting us.

Your Rights

You have the right to:

The At Home Hypnosis App

The app is built so that we hold as little about you as possible. Everything it keeps falls into one of four piles. The app shows this same list under Profile, "What we keep."

1. Kept with your account

So the app works on any phone you sign in on, we keep:

We use this only to sign you in, to bring your quiz result and plan to a new phone, and to reply if you contact us. Accounts are stored with Supabase, the database service that runs sign-in for the app. Each person can only ever read or change their own record.

2. Only on your phone

These are never sent anywhere, and we cannot see any of them:

Because they live only on your phone, they are not backed up by us. If you delete the app or your profile, they are gone. You can download a copy at any time (see "Your data in the app" below).

3. Counted, without your name

To learn which sessions and tools help, and to make better ones, the app sends small anonymous counts:

These rows carry no name, email, user id, device id or exact time. Nothing in them says who you are, and the app sends them without your sign-in, so they cannot be linked to your account. They never include anything you write: no journal, freezer, dumpster or affirmation text, and nothing from the camera. The app can add these counts but can never read them back. Only Alexandra reads them, as totals.

The app does not use any third-party advertising or analytics SDKs, and does not show ads.

4. Never kept at all

The camera

The Affirmations screen can use your front camera as a mirror, so you can see yourself while you say your affirmations. Your phone asks for permission first. The camera is view only: nothing is recorded, saved or sent, and it runs only while the Affirmations screen is in front of you. You can turn it off at any time and the app remembers that choice on your phone. The app never asks for or uses your microphone.

The eye-roll test can also use your front camera, so you can see what your eyes do as they close. On a phone, the app keeps a few seconds of that video in the app's temporary storage, plays it back to you once, and deletes it as soon as you leave or try again. It is never uploaded, never added to your photos, and never seen by anyone but you. On the web the camera is live only and nothing is kept.

Apple and Google

If you sign in with Apple or Google, they confirm who you are and pass us your name and email. Your subscription is billed and managed by the App Store or Google Play, so they hold your payment details and we never see them. Their privacy policies apply to what they collect: Apple and Google. The app does not use YouTube embeds or website analytics. One exception: when you send us something from inside the app, an appointment request, a report that something isn't working, a session idea or a question, what you type (and your email, when you give it so we can reply) is sent to us through Formspree, the same form service the website uses. The app version goes with a problem report so we can help. Nothing else from the app is sent.

Children

The app is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child under 13 has created an account, contact us and we will delete it.

Your data in the app

Download a copy of my data. In Profile, tap "Download a copy of my data" to get a plain text file with everything the app holds about you, on your phone and with your account. It goes out through your phone's own share sheet and never passes through our servers.

Delete your profile. In Profile, tap "Delete my profile." This deletes your sign-in, your name and email, and your quiz result from our database, and clears everything the app keeps on your phone. It cannot be undone. Deleting your profile does not cancel a paid subscription; that happens only in the App Store or Google Play.

The anonymous counts in pile 3 are not tied to you, so they cannot be found or deleted by person. The rights listed under "Your Rights" above apply to the app as well, and you can always email us instead.

How long we keep it

Account data stays until you delete your profile. Data on your phone stays until you delete it, the app or your profile. Anonymous counts are kept as totals to keep improving the sessions.

Contact

Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy from time to time. The dates at the top of this page show the most recent revision and when it took effect. If we change what the app collects, we will update the "What we keep" screen in the app to match.
